Background: Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) is a common condition associated with accelerated
loss of ovarian function and impaired fertility. In recent years, various nutraceuticals have been studied
for their potential to support ovarian function and female reproductive health. One such formulation
is Cyclofert-Female®, which contains pycnogenol from maritime pine tree, acetyl-carnitine, diosgenin
from yam root, coenzyme Q10, glycyrrhizin from licorice root, zinc, vitamins B6, B9, B12 and E,
selenium and omega-3 fatty acids.
Case Summary: We present the case of a 34-year-old woman who sought a gynaecological consultation
due to concerns about her fertility. A baseline assessment revealed low anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH)
levels of 0.73 ng/mL, as well as elevated follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone
(LH) levels, which are consistent with DOR. The patient was prescribed Cyclofert-Female® for five
months. Following supplementation, a repeat hormonal assessment revealed an increase in AMH to
1.34 ng/mL, along with decreases in FSH and LH.
Conclusion: This case highlights the positive effects of Cyclofert-Female® on ovarian reserve and
gonadotropin regulation after five months of supplementation in a woman with DOR. While these
findings are encouraging, further studies and randomized controlled trials are required to confirm the
efficacy of this intervention for managing DOR.
